Privacy Policy for YouTube Subscription Cleaner

This privacy policy describes how the Chrome extension YouTube
Subscription Cleaner (“the extension”) handles data.
Summary
The extension processes your YouTube subscription list entirely inside your
own browser. No data is ever sent to the developer or to any third-party
server. There are no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no user accounts.
What the extension does
The extension scans the list of YouTube channels you are subscribed to,
checks when each channel last published a video, highlights channels that
have been inactive beyond a threshold you choose (default: 12 months), and
lets you unsubscribe from individual channels or from all inactive channels
in bulk.
Data the extension processes
To do its job, the extension processes the following data locally, inside
your browser only:
- Your subscription list — read from YouTube while you are logged in,
in order to know which channels to check. - Each channel’s latest video date — fetched from YouTube’s public RSS
feeds (https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?...). These feeds are
public and require no login; the requests go directly from your browser
to YouTube and contain no personal information. - Your settings and scan results (such as the inactivity threshold) —
kept locally in your browser so the extension works the way you set it up.
None of this data leaves your browser. Nothing is transmitted to the
developer or to any server other than YouTube itself.
Data the extension does NOT collect
The extension does not collect, store remotely, sell, or share any of the
following:
- Personal or identifying information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Health, financial, or authentication information (the extension never
sees your Google password or login credentials — it simply operates on
YouTube pages in your already-logged-in browser session) - Personal communications
- Location data
- Web browsing history
- Any data for advertising, analytics, or profiling purposes
Network requests and third parties
The only network requests the extension makes are to youtube.com —
loading your subscription pages and fetching public RSS feeds. This is
required for the extension’s single purpose. No third-party services, SDKs,
or analytics libraries are included. Requests to YouTube are governed by
Google’s own privacy policy, exactly as when you browse YouTube normally.
Actions performed on your behalf
When you click “unsubscribe” (individually or in bulk), the extension
performs that unsubscribe action on YouTube on your behalf, in your own
browser session. It never performs any action you did not explicitly
request, and it cannot act on your account from anywhere outside your
browser.
Removing your data
All settings and scan results are stored locally in your browser.
Uninstalling the extension removes them. No data exists anywhere else.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the extension changes how data is handled, this page
will be updated and the effective date above will be revised.
