Privacy Policy for YouTube Next Chapter Button

This privacy policy describes how the Chrome extension YouTube Next Chapter Button (“the extension”) handles data.
Summary
The extension does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal
data. It has no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no user accounts.
What the extension does
The extension adds a floating button to YouTube watch pages
(https://www.youtube.com/*). Clicking the button skips the video to the start of the next chapter. The button can be dragged anywhere on the screen.
Data the extension stores
The only thing the extension ever stores is the on-screen position of the button — two numbers (an x and a y coordinate) — so the button stays where you placed it. This is saved with Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API and never leaves your device. It contains no personal information, no browsing
history, no video information, and no identifiers.
Data the extension does NOT collect
The extension does not collect or process any of the following:
- Personal or identifying information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Health, financial, or authentication information
- Personal communications
- Location data
- Web browsing history or user activity (clicks, keystrokes, pages visited)
- Website content
Data transmission and third parties
The extension makes no network requests of its own. No data is transmitted to the developer or to any third party. There are no third-party services,SDKs, or analytics libraries included in the extension.
Permissions
storage— used only to save the button’s on-screen position locally, as described above.- Host access to
www.youtube.com— required so the extension can show
the button on YouTube pages and read the chapter markers in the video
player’s progress bar. Nothing read from the page is stored or transmitted.
Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension removes the stored button position. No data exists anywhere else.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the extension changes how data is handled, this page will be updated and the effective date above will be revised.
